Bustin’ Loose Race to End Breast Cancer is a non-profit group in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) - Prairies/NWT Region. Each year we hold a 3km, 5km and 10km run/walk near the beginning of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event is open to any age and/or gender. We encourage participants to dress in Breast Cancer fashion. You can wear an abundance of pink, maybe your bra on the outside, or even pink ribbons galore! The more creative you are, the better your chances of winning one of our prizes for best dressed. Prizes will also be awarded for Most Pledges, Earliest Bird Registration, and Fastest Times (5KM & 10KM only).

Donations for the CBCF are raised through registration, pledges, and sponsorships after the recovery of event costs. Each year with the help of our ever increasing number of participants, sponsors and volunteers, we have been able to beat every one of our donation goals. Our goal for the 2009 event was to raise a donation of $50,000 to give to the CBCF, but with the help of numerous sponsors and over 450 participants and volunteers over $51,000 was donated.

Join Bustin’ Loose October 3, 2010 for a day of reminiscence, celebration and strength as we share with many other local families, our triumphs over Breast Cancer. There will be lots to enjoy in beautiful Strathcona Park. The race starts at 11:00am. After your race through the gorgeous scenic route, satisfy your hunger or thirst at the Heritage Pavilion with beverages and homemade chili. There will be live entertainment. Also, check to see if you won a door prize! Awards for Fastest Times will round out the afternoon.

Race participants will receive a special race package at registration full of goodies including a T-shirt and other mementos. Anyone who raises over $60.00 in pledges will have their registration fee waived. Those registering as a Family must raise $60.00 in pledges each in order to waive the Family Registration Fee.

Thank you to all the generous sponsors and the 450+ participants and volunteers who came out on October 4, 2009 to do something about Breast Cancer even in the cold, rainy weather. Over $51,000 will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
